El Bolilla Bakery on Airline
Wow, this place was impressive! I mean every square inch of wall space was taken by these cases of baked goods. To say I was overwhelmed was an understatement! I realized the popular 85C Bakery had a similar self-serve style where you pick up a large tray and tongs and have at it! I did not know where to start, to be honest. There were barely any labels and I had no idea what all the items were. I had to look at what people were getting and I did recognize a few things like the churros, chocolate chewy cookie, coconut macaron, which I bought along with several other things.
So I loved the authenticity of this place, mostly Latin customers, but I’ll be honest, I wasn’t that impressed with the pastries. I only took a few bites of most of what I bought and will say, I have had much tastier experiences. However, no horrible experiences, it was all decent, just have had better. Anyway, that’s all I have to say about that...oh wait, one more thing...it was super inexpensive. All of what I got, which were 2 bag fulls cost me $8. Not a bad bakery for decent pastries. The wedding cookies were good.
